Water is one of our most important resources. The Earth's freshwater is stored in lakes, rivers, and streams or below ground in aquifers. Pesticide contamination of water is of great concern from many perspectives. This course provides information on the nature of water, how it may become contaminated with pesticides, and how contamination can be prevented.
Students completing this module will:
- Become familiar with the general movement of water above and below the soil surface.
- Understand the factors that affect the risk of groundwater and surface water contamination by pesticides.
- Know how to protect water resources from pesticide contamination.
Successful completion of this module will earn New York State DEC certified pesticide applicators 1.5 Core recertification credits.
